My First Bond Purchase

I have subscribed to and received allocation to the Astrea IV Private Equity Bond.

The issuance of Astrea IV Bond is the first time that a private equity bond is made available to retail investors on the cheap.  This allows me the opportunity to venture into the bond asset class.

I think very likely this signal the open of the floodgates and we will see other bonds issuance in the near future.  With the rising interest rates environment, we may see some higher yield bonds.

However, less risk does not mean no risk, and we shall only invest with money that we can afford to lose.

Comments:
1. Bumper month in May.  However, just missed my $3K estimate as ParkwayLife Reit pays dividend in June this year.

2. Current worst performing counter: Duty Free Int'l (36.7% unrealised loss).
