Movement in my portfolio in April:-
Sold:- HPH Trust (23.7% loss).
Bought:- FE HTrust, FCOT, AIMS AMPI Reit, Keppel Corp.

Dividends collected in April: $0
2016 avg dividends/month: $894.56 [181.9% up at this stage cf. 2015]

Boring process of building up my passive income portfolio brick-by-brick (bit-by-bit).

Comments:
1. Big fat "0" dividend in April.  Well, a good rest in April for the dividend harvesting in May.  Set to be a record dividend fruits harvest for me next month, as 17 of my 27 holdings are paying dividends in May.

2. Finally lost patient and abandoned the leaking submarine HPH Trust.

3. Current worst performing counter: Keppel Corp (26% unrealised loss).  Probably will need to hold long term for this...

4. Made a small donation to a charity organization.

    1. Hi B,

Not really more reits addition. Just the money from HPHT went into some reits.

      Cheers,
      Farmer.

  2. May is a month of collecting dividends for me as well. Nice portfolio of dividend stocks

    1. HI SR,

Yes, May is a super month for dividend investors.

      Cheers,
      Farmer.

  3. Hi Farmer,

Just curious, is it a deliberate attempt to keep not a single counter above 5%?

I also noticed u have only 800 shares of ST engineering. I am curious, does that mean u only allowed a "measured" amount of regular injection? I remembered u hoot bank counter (although I cannot remember the quantity?)

Do u invest regularly or wait for "durian season"?

How long did u take to build a portfolio "brick by brick" of this size ?

I ask in Ernest, hoping to glean some insights from those taking the dividends path journey, not questioning u on anything.

    1. Hi SI,

I mentioned in a post previously that I will keep non-foundation stocks to not more than 5%.

I do my own monthly DCA. And of course I welcome "durian season", and will pick some if there is chance.

I actively started this "brick by brick" project in 2013. Beginning it was difficult because of the big lot size and small portfolio size. Though I feel it is easier now because of the small lot size and snowballing effect from dividends.

      Cheers,
      Farmer.

    2. Thanks!! Farmer

Wow, 2013, that means 4 years or perhaps 5 is what we need to see some results ...

Ok I go knock my head on the wall now

      Lol

    3. Hi SI,

No choice, we the ones who have no gold or silver spoons can only start small.

Even those who have big lump sum to invest at one go, those who invested at STI 3,500 or 2,500 can have vastly different results.

      Cheers,
      Farmer.

  4. Also,

How do u determine enough is enough for HPHT? I owned it too. We all know trade is weak now,the problems could well be cyclical isn't it?

    2. Hi SI,

I have HPHT since its IPO day. I feel that it is a "salted fish" and has more chance that it will follow Noble (as an ex-STI component), than it will rise again (a submarine since IPO).

Just want to get rid of this eye sore. I could be wrong. DYODD.

      Cheers,
      Farmer.

  5. Hi PIF,

I am starting to accumulate Keppel. I think this stock is going to be a very long play.

    1. HI PI Trooper,

Yes. I would like to do that too. But I think Keppel will test our holding power.

      Cheers,
      Farmer.
